Within the FTA line of drop shape instruments for contact angle and surface tension, the same software functionality is provided to all instruments but the sample and liquid handling have widely varying degrees of automation. These differences determine the price of the instrument.

 

The accuracy of measurements is largely a matter of how much care the user takes in setting up the instrument. The instrument is almost always better than the sample or the user setup.
