Environmental Chamber (Prices)

Enclosed chamber for maintaining temperature and atmosphere, but chamber is not leak-proof. User may supply non-obnoxious gases through inlet and outlet ports. Electrical heating for temperature control to approximately 350°C. Separate temperature control loop available for liquid heating/cooling with user-supplied bath. Dispense needle is in intimate thermal contact with chamber so test fluid is dispensed at chamber temperature. Unique sliding specimen stage facilitates measurements on 5 samples at 12.5mm centers in one thermal cycle. Chamber may be used for both surface tension and contact angle measurements. 2ml glass syringe with 22GA all stainless steel dispense needle.

Interfacial Tension Chamber (Prices)

Pressure-proof chamber for contact angle, surface tension, and interfacial tension measurements. Viton O-ring sealed. No electrical heater but temperature may be controlled with user-supplied external bath and the fluid loop within the chamber. Ports for liquid fill and drain (or pressurization) and upper and lower needle ports. Inverted bubble experiment capable. Optical section of chamber is approximately 20mm long by 15mm diameter. Includes a unique removable specimen slide with approximately 10mm usable travel for multiple measurements within cycle.

Alternative means of doing advancing/receding contact angles. Provides precise movement of X slide in 20-04 Environmental Chamber with stepper motor drive controlled by software. Can be used to automatically advance slide when running TAPPI protocols for paper industry. 360 Frames Per Second Camera (Prices)

Alternative camera provides a selection of frame rates up to 360 per second. Those above 120 do not provide a full vertical-height image, instead the height is reduced proportionally so 240 is one-half height and 360 is one-third height.

Auto Zoom/Focus (Prices)

Motorized microscope uses stepper motors on zoom and focus adjustments to provide software control. Zoom is automatically calibrated throughout entire range, so manual magnification calibration is not required each time zoom changed. Automatic focus algorithm to achieve best overall focus.

Heater kit to maintain syringe at specified temperature. This works in conjunction with temperature controlled chamber. The computer specifications are continually upgraded as technology progresses, so check with FTA for current specifications. However, all systems currently provide built-in network support, a CDROM read/write (burner) drive, and a flat screen display.

The computer system comes with a one-year on-site warranty (minimum) provided by Dell^®. Service issues relating to the computer system are not handled by FTA.
